How is it paid?

The grant amount is credited towards second semester tuition fees. Recipients will need to accept their offer and pay the deposit before the deadline to receive the credit.

Background

International students applying for an undergraduate or postgraduate course to study at La Trobe University can be rewarded a bonus grant for completing their admission process early. Recipients will automatically be eligible to receive an Early Bird Acceptance Grant of 5% of the first-year tuition fees.

Are you eligible to apply?

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand.
  • Be a new International student applying to study in Semester 2 and Term 4 2024 intakes (commencing July 2024). Deferrals from previous semesters are not eligible for this grant.
  • Be a full fee-paying student (Non-sponsored).
  • Meet all the conditions outlined in the offer, accept the offer, and pay the required deposit mentioned on the offer. Payments must be received by La Trobe University from 18th April 2024 to 28th June 2024. Payments made before or after these dates will not be eligible.
  • Students who receive a Conditional Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) due to a payment made within this timeframe will be considered eligible for the grant.
  • Students who accept their La Trobe offer and apply for a visa before 28th June 2024, but need to defer due to visa delays, will remain eligible for the grant once they secure their visa and enrol in a later intake.
  • Your course should be in the LTIS List of eligible courses.

Recipient obligations

  • Maintain a full-time enrolment in one of the La Trobe University campuses in Australia.
  • Refer to the terms and conditions included in the scholarship letter.

How to apply

  • Students will automatically be considered when applying for an approved course. Students may apply directly through StudyLink.

  • To receive this grant the student will need to accept their offer by paying the deposit mentioned in their offer letter before the Acceptance deadline.
  • The Early Bird Acceptance Grant can be combined with the LaTrobe High Achiever Scholarship to form a discount of up to 30% off first year tuition fees. This is subject to all conditions being met for both offers.

  • The Early Bird Acceptance Grant cannot be combined with the La Trobe East Asia Student Ambassador Scholarship.
