Carol Friday Master of Nursing Bursary
Background
Carol Friday was a strong advocate and champion of the Victorian maternal and child health sector, having worked to improve nursing conditions and practised as secretary of the MCH special interest group (now VAMCHN) in the late 1980s.
In honour of Carol Friday, who passed away in tragic circumstances with her son, the Department of Health is dedicating this bursary for Maternal and Child Health nurses to undertake a Master of Nursing degree.
Are you eligible to apply?
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Be an Australian citizen, holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa
- Be registered as both a Division 1 nurse and midwife with AHPRA (without restrictions)
- Have completed a postgraduate qualification in Child, Family and Community Nursing
- Be enrolled in the Master of Nursing
- Have a high WAM in previous and current studies
Recipients of the scholarship shall be selected by the University based on their:
- Personal statement demonstrating an interest in and commitment to maternal and child health
- High WAM in previous and current studies
Recipient obligations
- Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress
- Recipients must also provide a report to the Department at the end of their studies
