Master of Business Administration (MBA) Alumni Scholarship Terms and Conditions
Local students
La Trobe considers you a local student if you are:
- a citizen of Australia, or
- a New Zealand citizen, or
- a humanitarian or other permanent visa holder.
- This scholarship will be applied from the first semester of study at La Trobe University and will be applied against your tuition fees owing at that time of the Offer.
- This scholarship is available for both full-time and part-time study.
- This scholarship applies only to full-fee places.
- This scholarship may be used for both online and on-campus delivery modes of the MBA, but only one mode of study can be selected. There is no option available for you to transfer from one mode of study to another (online to on-campus or vice versa) throughout your studies.
- This scholarship will remain valid if you take an approved leave of absence and return to study.
- This scholarship will remain valid if you defer your enrolment only if you start studying before July 2022 and complete your course within three years of commencing.
- Any subjects completed more than three years after commencement of your course will be charged at the full-fee price.
- This scholarship is non-refundable to the student. If your enrolment is cancelled or you withdraw or otherwise terminate your enrolment, the scholarship funds will be returned to the University
- Transfer of the Scholarship. This Scholarship is non-transferrable.
- This scholarship is applied on a subject-by-subject basis. It will not be discounted in one lump sum and cannot be redeemed as a form of reimbursement.
- La Trobe University alumni are only eligible to only receive one coursework scholarship. In the instance where you have been offered more than one scholarship, the scholarship of greater value will be applied automatically by our admissions team. If you would like to accept a scholarship that is of a lower financial value than the Scholarship described herein, please contact Ask La Trobe.
- You may be eligible for other top-up grants, bursaries, or fee discounts.
- This scholarship will not apply to tuition fees of any subject you withdraw from after the census date. If you choose to withdraw from a subject after the census date, you will be liable to pay the full tuition fees for that subject.
- If you withdraw from your course (voluntarily), and at the time of withdrawal, you have not completed a minimum of 50% of the credit points of your course (from the date of your admission into that course), you will be required to repay to the University the value of all discounts applied to your studies from the point of admission to the point of withdrawal, in addition to any other outstanding fees.
- You will not be required to repay the University the value of all scholarship discounts if you withdraw from your course in opting for an ‘Alternative exit‘ (refers to exiting your course at an earlier stage by completing a different award to the one you were originally enrolled in), provided such award and exit has been approved by the University in accordance with its policies.
- Once you have exited the MBA, you will not be able to retain any unused scholarship components for any future studies with La Trobe University.
- By accepting this scholarship, you agree to be involved in marketing and recruitment activities during your time as a student at La Trobe University.
- As a recipient of the MBA Alumni Scholarship, you must remain in good financial standing with no outstanding fees owing to La Trobe University to continue to receive the scholarship. All HELP loans constitute as good financial standing.
- The above terms and conditions may be updated during the period of your study. In such a situation, you will be notified via your La Trobe student email of any changes.
Accepting and securing a scholarship
- You must meet all conditions (if applicable) outlined in your course Letter of Offer.
- You must commence your course at La Trobe University by the date listed on your Letter of Offer to secure your scholarship, unless it is approved for you to defer your enrolment (as outlined in the above terms and conditions).
International students
La Trobe considers you an international student if you are:
- a citizen of a country other than Australia, or New Zealand.
- are not humanitarian or other permanent visa holder.
- a temporary visa holder.
- This scholarship will be applied from the first semester of study at La Trobe University and will be applied against your tuition fees owing at that time of the Offer.
- This scholarship is for both full-time and part-time study (where the part-time study is approved and compliant with visa conditions).
- This scholarship is only offered to full fee-paying and non-sponsored international students.
- This scholarship may be used for both online and on-campus delivery modes of the MBA, but only one mode of study can be selected. International offshore students – if you commence your MBA online while you are in your home country, you must continue the entirety of your course online, even if you relocate to Australia throughout your studies.
- This scholarship will remain valid if you take a prior approved leave of absence and return to study.
- This scholarship will remain valid if you defer your enrolment only if you start studying before July 2022 and complete your course within three years of commencing.
- Any subjects completed more than three years after commencement of your course will be charged at the full-fee price

Accepting and securing a scholarship

- You must accept your offer by paying the full acceptance deposit listed on your Letter of Offer and return your completed Offer Acceptance Form for International Students to La Trobe International, ensuring you also complete the Scholarship Details Section.
- You must commence your course at La Trobe University by the date listed on your Letter of Offer to secure your scholarship, unless it is approved for you to defer your enrolment (as outlined in the above terms and conditions).
