What’s Aspire Achieve Plus?

Are you a high achieving student looking to include university subjects in your VCE and ATAR calculation?

Aspire Achieve Plus rewards Year 12 students who’ve studied a first-year university subject pair as part of their VCE studies with an early conditional offer to La Trobe.

Choose a subject pair (two subjects total) and study one in each semester, and your marks from those subjects will contribute to your ATAR or replace it with a La Trobe Entrance Score, whichever is higher, to increase your chances of getting into your dream course. There is no cost for this program, plus you’ll get credit for the subjects you’ve completed when you start an eligible degree at La Trobe – so you’ll start one step ahead.

Who can apply?

The Aspire Achieve Plus program is a great option for high-achieving Year 12 students that would like to take on La Trobe studies as part of their formal VCE studies.

Achieve Plus subjects are an accredited part of the VCE, and we’ll handle the hassle of making sure your grades are recognised with VCAA.

This option is only available to high achieving scored VCE students who:

  • Have enrolled in at least 4 VCE unit 3/4 subjects (one must be English or EAL)
  • Are eligible to be awarded the VCE and have demonstrated high-achieving results (B/70% pass average)

Applicants must also provide their Year 11 results.

FAQ

An early Conditional Offer gives you reassurance that you have a place in your preferred course before completing the final weeks of your Year 12. It guarantees you a place in your preferred course once you complete Year 12, as long as you meet the course’s adjusted Aspire ATAR, subject prerequisites and other essential entry requirements.

You’ll study 100% online, so your La Trobe study can be alongside your Year 12 subjects.

At La Trobe, we believe a great indicator of how you’ll succeed at uni is how well you do in our university programs for school students.

We’ve looked at the performance of numerous students in our pathway programs to allocate a score associated with future performance in degree programs compared to other students.

Our La Trobe Entrance Score can then be matched to the rank you may receive for school studies. The table below shows what average grades you need in your Aspire Prepare and Aspire Advance studies to gain a La Trobe Entrance Score.
