PSY5PND

2020

Credit points: 15

Subject outline

In this final practicum subject you will build on the previous two placement to achieve competency in all areas essential for clinical neuropsychology practice. You are expected to work towards becoming independent clinicians by the end of this placement in preparation for their entry into employment as a P2 Clinical Neuropsychology Registrar. The placement requires attendance for the equivalent of two days per week over approximately five months (45 days). The case analysis series provides the opportunity for you, at all stages within the degree, to observe and present case material arising from placement with scope for detailed discussion of neurological and psychological disorders that give rise to patterns of behaviour and cognitive performance. Professional and ethical issues that can arise in the practice of clinical neuropsychology are also discussed. You are expected to take the lead of these discussions during their final placement subject.
