Credit points: 5

Subject outline

This subject introduces student to foundational chemistry concepts to enable future study in general university programs including Nursing, Allied Health, Education and Science degrees. Beginning with an introduction to Atomic Theory and to the Periodic Table the subject examines bonding, chemical reactions and variables that affect reaction rates, mostly presented through a number of real life examples. Students apply the Scientific Method to design an experiment and present their findings in a short practical report.
