Subject outline

Audiologists need a good working knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the structures involved in hearing, and understanding of the diseased or disordered auditory system. Through lectures and workshops, this subject will provide you with knowledge about the structure and function of the peripheral/central auditory system and the vestibular system. It will further provide you with an understanding of common auditory pathologies resulting from disease or injury, and the impact of those pathologies on a patient's hearing. Your learning in the subject will be assessed through exams and a written assignment.
