This subject takes a broad interdisciplinary approach to engage with and critique various elements of popular culture across East Asia, South Asia and South East Asia. You will reflect on what makes something 'popular' across five categories: Film, Fashion, Music, Novels and Anime/ Manga. These categories are explored in terms of, for example, nationalism, religion, education, technology, media, and language.
