Subject outline
In this subject students will develop an understanding of the underpinning pathophysiology relating to commonly encountered clinical problems of a cardiac and/or respiratory nature (chronic, acute, and life threatening). Practical skills and theoretical knowledge will be combined with clinical problem solving and decision-making competencies within this unit. Students will assess, plan the management of and monitor patients presenting with a variety of cardiac and respiratory conditions of a medical nature. Communication techniques appropriate to patient presentations will also be identified and developed.
