ORT3NEO
2019
Credit points: 15
Subject outline
In this subject you will build on concepts covered in the subjects Ocular Physiology and Vision Science and Clinical Anatomy and Neurosciences. You will utilise and apply your knowledge about the human visual system in order to identify, examine and diagnose a visual field defect and predict the likely site of a lesion along the visual pathway based on a series of patient symptoms and signs. You will integrate theoretical concepts with practical instrumentation and clinical techniques to interpret clinical findings for the diagnosis and management of retinal or neuro-ophthalmic visual field defects. This subject will equip you to progress to the Orthoptic Clinical Practice subjects.
