Subject outline
In this program you will be introduced to nursing within the Australian health care context. Areas to be covered include the Australian health care system, clinical reasoning, communication in health care, law and ethics in Australian health care, risk management including infection control, mental health issues, medication management, caring for vulnerable groups, community nursing, perioperative care and investigations and fluid and electrolyte balance. The program has a clinical hurdle component. Successful completion of this program will enable you to apply to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia for registration as a Registered Nurse.
