Subject outline
You will collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams to design a social enterprise (a commercial enterprise which creates social value) as part of the Big Idea competition, which is run in conjunction with The Big Issue - one of Australia's most successful and famous social enterprises. You will, in teams, develop and present a social business plan and ten minute digital "pitch", the best of which will represent La Trobe in the Big Idea competition.This subject is delivered in a blended form via a combination of across campus lectures, webinars, workshops and individual assessment tools . You will also have the opportunity to engage with business leaders and social entrepreneurs outside of the University, through the judging process and other academic / assessment activities.This subject is available to undergraduate students on all campuses, and across all schools and colleges (providing the subject prerequisites have been met).

03. Enhance self awareness and emotional intelligence in the production of individually written reflections, based on the learning experience throughout the curriculum, in relation to both the conceptualisation of a social enterprise, and the expansion of ethical awareness in the social sector.
