Subject outline
Writers in Action is embedded into festivals across the regional campus network. Students engage with a single festival and have unique access to special events, authors and media personalities involved in the Festival, and learn about the industry and craft of writing, media promotion, public relations and business writing. The focus is on experiential learning and includes the development of interview skills, blogging, social media and creating web content. There is potential for learning opportunities with the festivals' event management, marketing and programming teams. Attendance at the festival is supported by lectures, seminars and online materials and activities. Writers in Action is available for all La Trobe students, not just those studying at regional campuses. The festival location may vary from instance to instance, so please check the website for further details: http://www.latrobe.edu.au/humanities/study/accredited-subjects.
