Subject outline
The work in this subject is designed to meet the real mathematical needs of each student. Each week students are encouraged to develop previous mathematical understanding through targeted opportunities to deepen mathematical thinking. This subject is specifically designed to engage each learner in substantive communication around mathematical concepts and procedures, to develop their mathematical understandings. Students have opportunities to demonstrate mastery of their mathematical knowledge and skills. Active involvement in this subject supports the skill development in Numeracy for completion of a final numeracy test hurdle task.

- Students will explore and unpack multiplication and subtraction problems. They will also recognise the two ideas of division, partition and quotation and will articulate different meanings and representations of fractions.
