Credit points: 15

This subject addresses La Trobe's Global Citizenship Essential. Global Citizenship is about learning to live in an interconnected world, including the social, environmental, political and economic challenges this brings.

Subject outline

In this subject students undertake a comprehensive study of workplace practises related to the ICT industry and reflect heavily on their personal views and approaches to individual and team responsibilities. Students develop professional skills related to ethical and moral decision making and evaluate the social implications of their work and the broader global context. The subject is very interactive with guided discussions and debates. Specifically related to the La Trobe Global Citizenship Essential, the students embark on a series of learning activities and assessed tasks to broaden their understanding of different cultures and sensitivities relevant to engaging in the ICT sector. Students demonstrate and reflect on their skills in team leadership, intercultural communication, active listening and communication, conflict management and meeting behaviour.
