ARTS FESTIVAL

CRA3FES

2019

Credit points: 15

Subject outline

In this subject the students will create an Arts Festival comprising artworks, screenings, writings and performances. The students will work collaboratively to produce all aspects of the festival, such as content, marketing and publicity, scheduling, budgeting, and ticketing. The subject encourages interdisciplinary collaboration between the disciplinary cores of Writing, Visual Arts, Screen and Theatre, including cross-campus collaboration. Much of the festival will be held on campuses and will invite interested spectators onto the campus, but the festival will also aim to be outward-facing and take artworks into public spaces, such as schools and community spaces. The students will reflect critically on their experience of festival making through forum discussions and seminars both across the Department of Creative Arts and specific to their discipline.
