Subject outline

Masters of Chemical Science students undertake a two-semester long research project (CHE5PRA and CHE5PRB) under the supervision of an academic staff member. Students will meet prospective supervisors and select research projects during the first year of the Masters of Chemical Science course. As part of the research project, students will conduct advanced experimentation, develop independent research skills, and produce a thesis outlining their achievements and results.

Special conditions This subject represents one semester of a year-long program. Students can commence the research project in Semester 1 or Semester 2.

One 5.0 days supervised research per week on weekdays during the day from week 06 to week 24 and delivered via face-to-face.
"Students commence their research project early in February or in July. Students are expected to work full-time on their research project. For local students a part-time enrolment for the research project is possible by negotiation with the project supervisor and the course coordinator."

Four 4.0 hours seminar per study period on weekdays during the day from week 06 to week 06 and delivered via face-to-face.
"LIMS induction course covers 2 days (week 6). Normally carried out in the LIMS Auditorium"
