Subject outline
The subject provides you with a knowledge and understanding of financial reporting standards and their use in accounting measurements and disclosure practices. You will focus on the Australian external reporting environment, and the role of the conceptual framework and its relevance to financial reporting. You will also deal with the evaluation and application of selected accounting standards for property, plant and equipment, intangible assists and income tax. You will learn about accounting for group structure, equity investments and joint ventures. The subject is designed to meet the preliminary requirements of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) and CPA Australia. It provides you the necessary background for understanding the financial reporting requirements in Australia.
