Subject outline
In this subject the central concern is natural resource management and landuse management within the framework of catchment management theory and practice. Using case studies and field work undertaken via intensive workshops we aim to develop knowledge and skills in the management of landuse and development so that: areas suitable for accommodating development are identified and inappropriate development is prevented; salinity is reduced; sustainable landuse is encouraged; pest plants and animals are controlled; and drainage and stormwater run-off are controlled.
