Subject outline
This subject ties together the full range of legal, managerial and ethical issues which affect corporate governance best practice. It identifies the best practice principles which students can apply in their own corporate or governmental situation. The topic coverage includes the elements of corporate governance, role, composition, functions and assessment of boards and board structures corporate social responsibility and director remuneration. The subject builds upon the knowledge of the law and its practical application gained from Applied Corporate Law and Corporate Accountability. This subject is offered in partnership with the Governance Institute of Australia. Upon enrolment, students can elect to take the subject online or face-to-face at the Melbourne office of the Governance Institute.
