ENTERPRISE RISK MANAGEMENT
MGT5ERM
2017
Credit points: 15
Subject outline
All enterprises, public, private, government or not-for-profit, operate in an environment characterised by uncertainty, which creates risks that the enterprise may gain or loose value. Successful organisations seek to understand these risks and identify strategies to optimise them, so as to maximise their potential to enhance the value of the organisation, and minimise their potential to destroy it. In this subject you will learn how to identify and evaluate the portfolio of risks facing an enterprise. You will also learn how to establish an enterprise risk management (ERM) framework that best serves your organisation's strategic and operational goals. While the subject will focus generally on the wide range of enterprise risk factors, and methods to identify, evaluate, manage and monitor them, a more particular focus will also be given to examining cyber risks and threats.
