Subject outline
This is an elective subject for all Bachelor of Legal Studies students. Its main purpose is to provide students with an opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in a workplace setting. The subject consists of attendance at a number of seminars followed by the identification of an appropriate workplace and the formulation of a suitable work project. After this process, each student will be placed with an organization that has undertaken to provide the necessary supervision in the workplace. The subject coordinator will oversee the selection of workplaces and projects. Workplaces will be determined according to their relevance to Legal Studies, the capacity of organizations to provide adequate workplace supervision and their ability to foster an educationally meaningful experience. Each project will be designed to develop research, educational or organisational skills or some combination of these.

- Activities:
- Working in workplace environments that deal directly with cultural diversity within a legal or law related context (a community legal service or advocacy group). Ethics will be foregrounded by a confidentiality agreement signed prior to entering workplace. Students are then required to reflect on both of these for their reflective essays and presentations.
