Subject outline

Students will develop an understanding of student welfare in primary and secondary schools in Australia. In particular students will focus on the evidence supporting the Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood's (DEECD) Framework for Student Support Services in Victorian Government Schools, and its implementation. In this subject, students will participate in a field experience equivalent to a minimum of 10 days duration, working in schools with student welfare staff or in community services organisations with their practitioners.
