Subject outline
The success of investments in information systems is critically dependent on how well they are managed in organisations. Students in this subject develop an understanding of IT alignment to business, capability maturity of the IT function, IT governance, role of infrastructure and protecting the IT assets, link between infrastructure planning and business strategy, IT outsourcing, information systems performance measurement; organization forms enabled by emerging technologies; personnel selection, training and assessment; IT project and change management. Ethical and legal issues related to evolving role of IT professionals, security and privacy, managing IT professionals, dealing with contracts, and interacting with clients and users are also covered.
