ANALYTICS IN PRACTICE
BUS5AP
2017
Credit points: 15
Subject outline
This unit will bridge the business process with the mechanics and technical processes of analytics to enable actionable, meaningful and relevant solutions to be delivered in the appropriate business context. The focus will be on the various business processes, methodologies and techniques that students can apply to achieve an analytical outcome that meets the end-users' intentions and needs, as any analytics performed is only meaningful if the results addresses the business problem. It is also the capstone unit where students get to undertake a project that allows all the various skills acquired in the course to be put to use in a real-world industry project. Students will learn and experience first hand the end to end process of carrying out analytics to satisfy the three constraints: customer needs, business problem and technology thus, delivering relevant and actionable outcomes.
