Graduate capabilities & intended learning outcomes

01. Identify, read and understand scientific literature relevant to the research project

Activities:
Students are expected to continue accumulating knowledge about their research project and the fundamental biological and biochemical principles behind it throughout their research year.

02. Carry out semi-independent laboratory experiments as the core phase of the research project

Activities:
Laboratory-based research of around 25-30 hours/week divided between subjects BIO5THC and BIO5THD.

03. Critically analyse and consolidate experimental data.

Activities:
Students need to critically assess and analyse their research data. This is a major part of the task of composing the research thesis (major assessment for this subject).

04. Presentation of research data and its interpretation

Activities:
This forms a major component for the preparation of the research thesis for this subject.

05. Compose a research thesis
