Subject outline
The development of expertise in the creative use of digital tools essential to the preparation of print-based visual communication â ensuring a full-working knowledge of production techniques; photography and scanning, file management, art for print, imposition, make-up and typesetting. Presentation of design artwork: technical considerations, pre-press, print-ready art and file preparation for print reproduction is the focus of this subject. Some project material will be taken to print. Projects include preparation of design material appropriate for professional presentation and client review submission. Aspects of billing, client liaison and production management are investigated.
