Subject outline
In this subject students will consolidate knowledge skills and experience gained throughout the midwifery course to enable students to transition into the role of a beginning midwife. Students will further develop their skills and understanding of the midwife's scope of practice in all birth settings. Under supervision students will manage the care of the woman in labour recognising and managing situations that may compromise the birth process. Students will consolidate their knowledge of managing emergency care situations.
