Subject outline
This subject will assist students to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills in the care of patients from a diverse population that present to an Emergency Department and Critical Care Unit. The focus is on acquiring advanced levels of cognitive, affective and psychomotor skills required to care for the critically ill patient in these settings. Skills developed will include essential respiratory and cardiovascular care strategies. Specific Emergency issues and systems will also be addressed.
