International Women's Day
International Women's Day (IWD) on 8 March each year is an occasion to reflect and celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender equality.
International Women’s Day was born out of the labour and socialist movements. At the turn of the twentieth century in North America and across Europe. It has grown in prominence and since become an event with global significance.
