Advocacy

We’re here to help

Student Advocacy is funded by the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) and is independent of La Trobe University decision-making. The Student Advocacy service will listen, help to work out problems with you and support you through university processes.

The Student Advocacy service is free and confidential and available to all La Trobe students, no matter where you are located. Our Student Advocates are guided by the La Trobe Advocacy – Services and Independence Charter.

Student Advocates will support you by:

  • Listening to what you have to say
  • Providing information to help you understand options
  • Empowering you to have a voice
  • Implementing action to address your needs
  • Resolving issues through communication and action

Student Advocates can make referrals, talk to people on your behalf, and be there with you at meetings and hearings.
