Student surveys

During your time at La Trobe, and after graduation, you’ll be invited to participate in student surveys that help us gather feedback on your experience and support us to continually improve.

Why you should participate in surveys

Information you provide in surveys is de-identified and used to improve the experience for all students at La Trobe. We recognise the importance of your time and feedback. Not only will your answers help us to make continuous improvements, you could also win a great prize!

Each year La Trobe participates in a range of surveys, including surveys run by external research bodies. We seek feedback from both our currently enrolled students and from students who have completed their courses.

Surveys for current students

We reach out to you throughout your study journey to gather valuable feedback on what your experience has been and to inform ways in which we can continually enhance student life at La Trobe.

You’ll receive invitations to your student email address to participate in surveys.

Student Feedback on Subjects and Student Feedback on Teaching (SFS)

SFS is your opportunity to provide your thoughts about the subjects you’re currently studying. In some cases, you can also provide feedback on the teaching staff and their delivery of your subjects.

La Trobe Experience Survey (LES)

The LES gives all coursework students the opportunity to talk about their university experience. We run two rounds each year, generally in April and September.

QILT Student Experience Survey (SES)

The SES is a national survey conducted each August for the Australian Government Department of Education and Training that measures student experience across Australian universities.

International Student Barometer (ISB)

The ISB is a worldwide survey of international students, typically run in May every two years. It collects feedback on the experience and satisfaction of international students studying onshore across La Trobe's campuses.

Graduated student surveys

La Trobe participates in national surveys of graduated students, facilitated by the Social Research Centre (on behalf of the Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment).

To ensure you can participate in these surveys, please ensure that your personal email address is accurate in StudentOnLine before your graduate.

QILT Graduate Outcome Survey (GOS)

QILT Graduate Outcome Survey (GOS)

Each year the Graduate Outcome Survey (GOS) measures short-term employment outcomes of all graduates of Australian higher education institutions approximately four months after they have completed their course.
