Meet our students
The benefit of being a student in a small, multicultural campus is the provision of a family environment. The Shepparton Campus is a home to me in that I feel a sense of belonging, with friendly academic staff who are always available. I know most the staff by name and vice versa. Studying in such a supportive and friendly environment not only enabled me to successfully complete my Bachelor of Arts degree but also gave me the confidence to undertake my Honours studies. With the continued encouragement, support, and care of my lecturers I have completed my Honours Degree in Sociology (First Class).
Studying nursing at La Trobe’s Shepparton Campus is a fantastic experience, and a valuable beginning to my career as a healthcare professional. Our fully equipped Clinical Learning Unit has enabled me to practise important clinical skills in a safe environment before going out on placement. Rural nursing placements in the Goulburn Valley are very hands-on and I always feel like a vital member of the team. I have participated in a lot of fun social events on campus and learned valuable teamwork and leaderships skills that I will carry with me throughout my career as a registered nurse.
