La Trobe University Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Theo Farrell, said that the University was grateful to the Victorian Government for its leadership and unwavering support of the higher education sector.
“The message that this new fund sends to international students could not be clearer: we want to support you to realise your dreams and ambitions through a quality Australian education,” Professor Farrell said.
La Trobe’s Chancellor, the Hon. John Brumby AO, is leading the Victorian Government’s education mission to India this week, which includes La Trobe’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Farrell. The mission is showcasing the University’s many established and developing transnational partnerships in India which includes the Asian Smart Cities Research Innovation Network (ASCRIN) which was founded by La Trobe.
Professor Farrell went on to say that La Trobe has a long history in India, and that Indian students, teachers and researchers were part of the University’s DNA.
“La Trobe has a proud and successful history in India, counting almost 11,000 people born in India among our alumni, helping develop India’s brightest minds through joint education opportunities and partnering with Indian tertiary institutions and leading industries on projects that are of mutual benefit to both countries,” he said.
