With mid-semester assessment due dates just around the corner, Library workshops are a great way to help you prepare and feel more confident in your work.
Join us for Assessment Bootcamp on Wednesday 18 September – a full day of online workshops to help you complete assessments and develop good study habits.
You can sign up for just one workshop or attend them all.
What to expect
Each workshop covers a specific topic to help you develop your skills in that area. For example, improving your writing, planning and structuring assignments and how to find great resources.

Essays and referencing
In this workshop, you’ll learn how to:
- plan, structure and write an essay
- use evidence in your writing
- use the Academic Referencing Tool (ART)
11.30 am – 1.00 pm
Report writing and referencing
In this workshop, you’ll learn:
- the key features of a report
- where and how to include evidence in your report writing
- how to use the Academic Referencing Tool (ART)
2 pm – 3 pm
Using evidence in your writing
In this workshop, you’ll learn:
- the role of evidence in academic writing
- how to use quotations and paraphrasing
- the difference between in-text citations and reference lists
- how to incorporate in-text citations in your writing
- how to link evidence and claims in your writing
3 pm – 4 pm
Getting back on track with your assessments
In this workshop, you’ll learn:
- some steps for getting back on track after falling behind
- strategies for time management and prioritising tasks
- where to go for more support
5 pm – 6 pm
Library databases and Google Scholar
In this workshop, you’ll learn:
- the search process
- how to use databases and why we use them
- how to combine search techniques in databases and Google Scholar to boost your results
