Connecting with our partner universities

Dr Geraldine Kennett has travelled to Vietnam and China to connect with La Trobe’s partner universities

La Trobe Business School’s Associate Dean of Academic Partnerships, Dr Geraldine Kennett, recently travelled to Vietnam and China to connect with staff and students at La Trobe’s partner universities.

As part of the trip, Dr Kennett visited 10 partner universities, where she led workshops on how to communicate with influence.

“Recognising the pivotal role of communication skills in achieving employment success, these workshops aimed to empower students with practical techniques to enhance their abilities. At the heart of the workshops was the exploration of individual communication styles and the dynamics of interpersonal interactions,” Dr Kennett says.

“Students delved into understanding their own communication preferences and those of others, fostering the capacity to adapt their approach for optimal communication outcomes, especially in challenging scenarios.”

During the trip, Dr Kennett also presented at the La Trobe Business School Awards Ceremony at Hanoi University.

“I was proud to present awards to the La Trobe Business School's top achievers. For these students, the ceremony marked a significant milestone in their pursuit of excellence, demonstrating their dedication to their studies and setting the stage for future opportunities.”

Another highlight of the visit was the opportunity to connect with La Trobe La Trobe Alumni Champions in Vietnam.

“La Trobe Business School Alumni Champions convened atop the scenic rooftop of Hotel du Lac in Vietnam, setting the stage for a dynamic dialogue on sustainable business practices,” said Dr Kennett.

“From eco-friendly initiatives to ethical supply chain management, their discussions echoed the urgent need for responsible business conduct. As ambassadors for the Business School they showcased La Trobe's ethos, inspiring a new wave of leaders committed to shaping a brighter, more sustainable future for global business.”

Dr Kennett said she was pleased to connect with La Trobe Business School students, alumni and partner universities, reaffirming the school’s commitment to nurture the next generation of business leaders and innovators in the region.
