A partnership with Carlton IN Business, a corporate network attached to the Carlton Football Club, is providing members with the chance to get a taste of La Trobe’s practical and industry-focused Master of Business Administration (MBA).
Dr Geraldine Kennett, Associate Dean of Academic Partnerships in the La Trobe Business School, said the partnership provides members with the unique opportunity to undertake two MBA subjects.
“This year we offered a leadership subject in semester one, and in semester two, we are running our entrepreneurship and innovation subject, which covers the entrepreneurial mindset, the entrepreneurial process, entrepreneurial tools and innovation management.”
Samantha Paterson, Manager of Carlton IN Business, says the subjects offer a range of benefits to members.
“Each Carlton IN Business member organisation is eligible to nominate one employee from their business to complete the subjects. The partnership allows members to complete an accredited learning and development course while also networking with like-minded individuals.”
“This partnership gives our members valuable and accredited learning and development opportunities that allow them to engage with the network on a deeper level.”
It is a partnership that, Dr Kennett says, is mutually beneficial.
“Students who complete the individual subjects are eligible to request 15 credit points when they apply for the full MBA or any other Masters program within the La Trobe Business School.”
“As a member, representatives from the La Trobe Business School can also attend various networking events with business leaders, which helps us build relationships that may lead to student placements or research opportunities.”
