APEC-Australia Women in Research Fellow

Dr Mo Zhu, an Assistant Professor at Shanghai Maritime University, has joined La Trobe as an APEC-Australia Women in Research Fellow

The La Trobe Business School is excited to welcome Dr Mo Zhu, an Assistant Professor at Shanghai Maritime University who recently joined La Trobe University as a Research Fellow funded by the APEC-Australia Women in Research Fellowship program.

Dr Zhu will conduct research on the carbon reduction strategies of shipping companies.

“During my time at La Trobe University, I aim to complete a study on modelling and optimization of shipping companies' carbon reduction strategies under cap-and-trade system,” she says.

“This fellowship is not just about furthering my own knowledge; it's about contributing to the collective body of research in STEM and making a positive impact in the Asia Pacific region.”

“I'm looking forward to collaborating and networking with my supervisors and colleagues through my research and experiencing Australian culture throughout my stay. I hope to share my experiences, insights, and the incredible discoveries that unfold along the way.”

Dr Bill Du, Senior Lecturer of Logistics and Supply Chain Management at La Trobe, extended his congratulations to Dr Zhu.

The APEC-Australia Women in Research Fellowship aims to support economic and technical cooperation to address the many challenges and opportunities that face the Asia-Pacific region.

Under the fellowship program, female researchers from developing economies receive up to $20,000 each to work in partnership with an Australian education institution to undertake a research project over one to three months.
