From national selection to graduations and record breaking feats, LEAP athletes have made their mark in what was a successful final quarter to round out 2023.
The LEAP program is proudly supported by TechnologyOne, and helps to identify, promote and support the needs of elite athletes studying at university by providing them with assistance and support to successfully combine their academic and sporting pursuits . The value of combining sport and higher education is well recognised across the university and sporting sectors, which is why La Trobe is committed to helping elite athletes undertaking study with the University.

- Amy Lawton - Won the 2XU Rising Star at the Victorian Institute of Sport's Award of Excellence.
- Caitlin Parker - Won 2XU Coach Award for Boxing at the Victorian Institute of Sport's Award of Excellence.
- Daniel McGrath and Matt Beattie - Represented Australia at the Asian Baseball Classic.
- Alana Bellman - Represented Australia at the Sport Aerobics World Championships.
- Amy Bachmann - Received the prestigious Remi Stud Scholarship.
- Emma Berg - Broke her own Vic Country shot put record.
- Liam Park - Represented Australia at the Oceania Judo Open.
- James Calabro - Set to represent Victoria at the National Water Polo Championships.
The end of 2023 also marks an exciting period for 16 LEAP members who will soon graduate from La Trobe University. On behalf of the University community, La Trobe Sport congratulates our student athletes on successfully completing their academic studies and wishes them all the best for their future endeavours.
