Across society we understand well the impact of isolation and loneliness on physical and mental health, and SilVR Adventures are at the forefront tackling these challenges and working to improve these feelings in one of our most vulnerable social groups.
SilVR Adventures is a virtual reality-based enrichment solution tailored to connecting participants in aged care facilities, retirement living communities, hospitals, home care providers and more, with a range of virtual reality experiences to improve their mental and physical wellbeing.
Through their immersive VR content library, they are providing meaningful and shared experiences that stimulate memories, drive social engagement, and ultimately bring joy.
Their cost effective, simple to implement and maintain, virtual reality technology has brought joy to thousands of seniors across Australia and New Zealand. Group VR sessions build bonds through meaningful shared experiences, where up to 40 participants from any location can join together for a unique adventure in a virtual world.
Founder Colin Pudsey, participated in La Trobe’s Global Markets Accelerator Program held in 2020 and 2021, where start-ups learned about scalability and how to connect with markets beyond Australia.
The two part program started with a global feasibility study, with market research and insight into cultural aspects of participant’s chosen geographic markets, and culminated with an opportunity to pitch for a six-month innovative accelerator program including international experience with one of four delivery partners: imec.istart, T-Hub, Innovation Factory or Singtel Innov8.
Colin said that GMAP provided him with valuable insights into which markets were potential test beds and identifying commercial partnership opportunities.
“It gave us an experience we wouldn’t have previously had, with fast-tracked knowledge, how to build business, understanding our own customers and the industry in greater detail.”
