All students are invited to a free public webinar to discuss women’s contribution to the care economy, as part of International Women’s Day on 8 March.
Canada’s leading political economic feminist Dr Pat Armstrong will present Troubling Care: research perspectives on women’s care work in an online event.
Dr Armstrong is a Distinguished Research Professor in Sociology at York University and a Fellow of the

Help celebrate International Women’s Day as the Care Economy Research Institute (CERI) and the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (ARCSHS) welcomes Dr Armstrong for a conversation about the importance of women’s paid, and unpaid work in the care economy and how best to use women’s experience of care work to address some of the key challenges post Covid.
Dr Armstrong will be introduced by:
Professor Irene Blackberry: Director, Care Economy Research Institute and Chair, John Richards Centre for Rural Ageing Research, La Trobe University
Professor Kate Seear: Australian Research Council Future Fellow and Deputy Director of the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (ARCSHS) and will be talking with Pat to unpack some of her ground-breaking research.
