La Trobe is unique amongst Australian universities in promoting an annual Spiritual Diversity Day on 17 August, to highlight the diverse cultural and faith communities that are part of our thriving learning community.
We aim to raise awareness of the link between spirituality and health and wellbeing. For many, spirituality is essential to our understanding of meaning and purpose and it is integral to how we define our authenticity as human beings. We want to include spiritual wellness as a holistic and integrated component of well-being.
Spirituality is the belief and knowledge that there is something greater than oneself, whether it be a connection to land, nature, culture, or faith-based. Spiritual Diversity Day is about celebrating the uniqueness of each person and their community, and what makes them who they are.
La Trobe recognises our First Nations people whereby spirituality is a core foundation for their culture and community.
