Get moving for a good cause! Sign up for this year’s Wings For Life World Run on Sunday 4 May from 9 pm (AEST) and join participants from around the globe.
For the second year running, the Wings for Life World Run Melbourne event will be held at La Trobe University’s Melbourne (Bundoora) Campus.
Last year’s event attracted more than 1200 participants, and this year promises to be even bigger with over 1500 people expected to join us from across Melbourne!
The Wings for Life World Run is a global charity fundraising fun run event where 100% of the money raised goes towards spinal cord injury research. It is a truly unique event for both runners and wheelchair participants, with 378 global events being held across the world simultaneously.
The Virtual Catcher Car takes off 30 minutes after the start at 14 km/h, and instead of a reaching a set finish line, will steadily increase its speed until the last athletes have been caught.

Competitors around the globe will begin at the exact same time (11:00 am Coordinated Universal Time/ UTC) and will race side by side to keep ahead of the Virtual Catcher Car.
In 2025, we are aiming to have our largest Team La Trobe contingent yet take part in the event on our home campus. To sign up for the Wings for Life World Run at the Melbourne Campus, please register here.
Following the registration process, make sure you join the Team La Trobe squad via the Teams page. We can’t wait to see a sea of red and black colours representing the university with pride!
Please note that there will be road closures within the La Trobe University Melbourne campus on Sunday 4 May for this event, however the centre of the campus will be accessible on foot.
The event hub will be at the La Trobe Sports Stadium. Sports Drive from Car Park 2A to the Home of the Matildas (HoTM) will be closed. The HoTM will still be accessible on foot.
