At La Trobe, we are committed to creating an environment that is inclusive, accessible, respectful, safe, and equitable, where everyone can thrive.

That’s why we’re creating an overarching Equity Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Strategy and Framework to provide a clear vision for La Trobe and to guide our ongoing efforts to advance EDI.

The Strategy and Framework will be designed to:

  • Integrate student voices to enhance EDI across all areas of student life
  • Define a unified EDI vision and comprehensive roadmap for the University
  • Bring together current and new EDI policies and programs, encompassing essential action plans and strategies
  • Enhance oversight and coordination of EDI initiatives, University-wide
  • Synchronise the EDI strategic direction with La Trobe’s Strategic Plan 2020-2030

How to get involved

Consultations are being held with both students and staff from June to August 2024.

We are seeking a diverse range of perspectives to help shape a five-year vision and goals for La Trobe’s EDI Strategy and Framework. This includes understanding our current strengths and identifying areas for improvement, based on people’s experiences.

We’re running one-hour online sessions to provide a safe and inclusive environment for you to contribute your perspectives on an EDI vision and goals.
