The annual Team La Trobe Walk & Run event is back this September to raise awareness and funds for mental health!
After a successful return to on-campus events in 2022, the 2023 edition of the Team La Trobe Walk & Run will once again bring La Trobe University’s Melbourne and Bendigo campuses to life as part of La Trobe Sport’s ‘Move for Mental Health’ campaign in support of mental health charity, R U OK?.
Participants at both on-campus events can take part in either a 2.5km or a 5km walk or run around La Trobe’s picturesque campus surrounds. An exciting addition to both 2023 events will be the all-new course layouts, with this year’s Melbourne event set to start at the La Trobe Sports Park Stadium.
Feel Good Festival Market Days will also be a key feature at both campus events, with LTU Clubs teaming up with La Trobe Sport and Student Events to celebrate movement, wellbeing and getting active.
Relax with Feel Good Fest activities, including a photo booth, massage zone, therapy dogs and arcade zone before setting off on the Team La Trobe Walk & Run! Plus we’ll be bringing all the usual Market faves including stalls, clubs, library book swap and mindful colouring!
Event details
The Team La Trobe Walk & Run activation kicks off with the Bendigo campus event on Tuesday 5 September, with the Melbourne campus event to follow on Thursday 7 September.
Staff and students based at one of our other La Trobe campuses wishing to take part in the Team La Trobe Walk & Run that can’t make either of the two on-campus events can still get involved via the virtual walk or run on the online event hub.
How to register
To encourage participation and connection within the La Trobe community, the first 200 participants to register will receive a FREE Team La Trobe event pack, which will include event entry at either the Melbourne or Bendigo event, Team La Trobe merchandise and access to the post event celebration/event hub.
Those who register before Tuesday 29 August will also go into the draw to win a prize up to the value of $500, while prizes for teams with the most participants and funds raised will also be awarded on the day.
