Join us for the first Launches @ the Library event for 2024, with a very special campus appearance by Christos Tsiolkas, to celebrate the release of his latest novel, The In-Between.
Christos will be joined In Conversation by novelist and Associate Professor in English and Creative Writing, Dr Catherine Padmore.
We will also launch the new Literary La Trobe podcast!
This special event will be hosted by Professor of Public Engagement Clare Wright, with the support of the Office of the Vice-Chancellor.
A light lunch will be provided.

About the Author
Christos is one of Australia’s best loved authors and an Adjunct Research Fellow in the Department of English and Creative Writing at La Trobe University.
Christos is the author of eight novels, including Loaded, which was made into the feature film Head-On, The Jesus Man and Dead Europe, which won the 2006 Age Fiction Prize and the 2006 Melbourne Best Writing Award, as well as being made into a feature film.
His fourth novel, the international bestseller The Slap was set in Melbourne’s inner north, where Christos has been a resident for decades. The Slap won Overall Best Book in the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize 2009, was shortlisted for the 2009 Miles Franklin Literary Award and longlisted for the 2010 Man Booker Prize. The Slap and Christos’ fifth novel, Barracuda, were both adapted into celebrated television series.
Damascus, was published in 2019 and won the 2019 Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for Fiction. 7½ was published in 2021. In the same year, Christos won the prestigious Melbourne Prize for Literature.
