Blind date with a book

Do you love to read?

Would you like to take a book home with you for the holidays?

The La Trobe leaders want to bring you a little joy to the Melbourne (Bundoora) campus these holidays with their ‘Blind date with a book’ activation.

Busy wrapping books so their title remains a secret, our La Trobe Student Leaders have been working together to give their peers an opportunity to take a book home with them after the busy exam period, for some much-needed RnR.

The books genre’s range from self-help to crime, spiritual awakening to romance.

Each book will also include a wrapped teabag, bookmark, and some other special treats!

If you’d like to be one of the lucky students that gets to snatch up one of these holiday treats, make sure you visit the Student Lounge at the Melbourne (Bundoora) campus from Monday, 3 June.

Student Leader Quynh Chi Nguyen, who is in her final year of study, says she took part to get in touch with her crafty side.

“It combined two things I love: paper craft and books. It was a therapeutic activity that brought me joy.”

Noel Li Min Chong has been a La Trobe Leader for nearly 2 years and said he was “grateful to give back to La Trobe community even if it’s small things, such as wrapping and writing on the books.”

If you find a book and wish to upload it to your socials, you can do so using the #Latrobeleaders hashtag!
