A healthy competition to save lives

The La Trobe University Creative Clubs from Melbourne (Bundoora) campus have teamed up for a special Blood Drive running from 1 September through to the end of November, with an ambitious goal to save 100 lives through blood donations. The competition is heating up, with the Choral Society currently tied with the LUSOM (La Trobe University Symphony Orchestra and Music Society) for the top spot—proving that when it comes to saving lives, a little friendly rivalry goes a long way!

With just two weeks to go, the clubs are only 13 donations away from reaching their goal, a remarkable achievement that showcases the commitment and generosity of La Trobe’s creative community. What’s even more inspiring is the number of new donors who’ve joined in as many clubs have made blood donation a social activity with members coming in to donate together in pairs or groups.

A blood donation takes just an hour of your time but means a lifetime to those who need it.

Check if you’re eligible online at www.lifeblood.com.au. Factors like tattoos, medications, smoking, travel, low iron, and your sexual preference might not stop you donating.

With donor centres located near all La Trobe University campuses, the Creative Clubs are hopeful that their efforts will inspire more students to give blood and make a difference.

To book your donation, head to www.lifeblood.com.au. We also encourage donors to join the La Trobe University Lifeblood Team when they book in, so that as a university, we can understand the impact we are having on the broader community. Every Drop Counts.
