About this event

As a researcher, being able to find relevant information fast is crucial in your daily work. With Dimensions, you have access to a vast collection of curated research outputs and tools that help you source exactly what you need to advance your own discoveries.

Dimensions is a discovery and analytics platform that brings together over 150 million publications and other research outputs from across the scholarly ecosystem. With Dimensions, you can search across multiple content types, ranging from publications to grants, clinical trials, patents, and policy documents. The linking of all these data enables you to view the items returned in context, gain new insights from complex analytics, and trace the relationships between your results.

Learning outcomes:

  1. How to analyse funding trends, identify potential collaborators, explore previous grants.
  2. How to use and export data and metrics to create more effective proposals and develop comprehensive reporting.
  3. How to use the advanced analytical capabilities in Dimensions to compare and contrast data from researchers, research institutions and companies around the world.
  4. How patent data in Dimensions allows for efficient identification of organisations commercialising research in areas relevant to you.
  5. How to perform citation analysis and understand the multi-disciplinary impact of your research.

THIS SESSION IS FOR LA TROBE RESEARCHERS AND GRADUATE RESEARCHERS ONLY.
