Dean's welcome
Welcome to the La Trobe Business School.
At the La Trobe Business School, we are committed to excellence in business education and research. We engage deeply with our students, staff, education partners, research collaborators, industry and communities to transform business thinking and practice for social impact.
Our world is shaped by technological innovation, the ubiquity of readily accessible data and its use by firms to influence consumers and society. Business and government are increasingly working with the tertiary sector to develop practical solutions to the global business challenges of our time.
Our network of regional, national and international partners means that we are uniquely placed to act on opportunities, to educate the next generation of ethical business leaders, and to produce impactful research that benefits us all.
Our education programs are student-centred, collaborative and engaging, and allow students to study at a time and place of their choosing. Our courses feature problem-based learning that gives students insight into the contemporary opportunities and challenges facing business today.
Then, there’s putting that learning into practice. Our comprehensive industry engagement and work placement programs help us to deliver career ready graduates.
We partner closely with business, government and our communities to ensure our curriculum is responsive to their changing needs. We are proud that it is also informed by our own research contributions and guided by our School Advisory Board.
Everything we do is informed by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME).
We have been a PRME signatory since 2008 and PRME Champion since 2013, joining a powerful and growing movement by leading business schools and management-related academic institutions worldwide to implement the six PRME principles: purpose, values, method, research, partnership and dialogue.
We hold Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business accreditation and EFMD accreditation for our MBA. Our courses are also accredited by other professional associations including the Australian Computer Society, the Australian Human Resources Institute, the Australian Marketing Institute, CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
At the La Trobe Business School, we aspire to be one of the nation’s pre-eminent business schools as measured by our innovative courses, the success of our graduates, the positive social impact of our research and the strength of our partnerships.
